We have opened a café, Barista & Beyond, in Reading to extend our mission of Changing Lives, One Job at a Time
Barista & Beyond
Barista & Beyond is more than just a café, as it was set up by us in 2022 as a way of furthering our mission of Changing Lives One Job at a Time.
To achieve this mission, all profits made at our café will be used to support more people with disabilities and other barriers to gain and maintain employment. We have supported over 540 clients and hope to be able to increase this figure with the help of Barista & Beyond.
Our café offers a wide range of quality coffees, teas, smoothies, and various baked goods as well as a selection of lunch plates. Come along to grab one of our coffees and a bite to eat at 5 Alfred Street, Reading, RG1 7AT
Our Mission
The team at Barista & Beyond includes people from the local community who have a disability or other barrier. In consequence, our café is a first-hand example of how employing people with disabilities can benefit a workforce, employers and customers.
We have also partnered with
New Directions College
in Reading
to provide work experience for the learners on their supported hospitality program. They will provide off-site education and training for people in the local community who want to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. People on the program will then undertake work experience at our café to gain hands-on experience in a real working environment.
