Do you want to make a difference and
change lives, one job at a time?
Employment Coach
Ways into Work is a charity with a clear mission: Changing Lives One Job at a Time.
We do this by supporting people with disabilities or other barriers to gain and maintain paid employment. With about 70% of the people we support in work, and 90% retained in work we are really proud of the impact we are making. Working with us can be challenging, but our employees rate us as a great place to work, consistently 4 out of 5 stars or better; and the reward of changing someone’s life is second to none!
Key responsibilities are:
- Coaching young people in their supported internship place of work on a one-to-one basis to layer up the skills they need in that workplace and to ultimately secure paid work
- Liaising with the workplace employer, education providers (schools and colleges) and programme manager regarding student progress and next steps in their skills development
- Providing mentoring and coaching where needed to the intern's workplace line manager and work colleagues, to empower employers to become more independent in meeting the needs of that young person
- Provide travel training where necessary so interns can travel to and from their placement safely
